Job summary

Dune is seeking a software engineer focused on data to help scale a blockchain data platform. You will design distributed systems, work with large-scale datasets, and contribute to ingestions, decoding, and SQL query performance.

The role emphasizes Kotlin/Go with optional Java/Rust and a strong design mindset. Join a fast-moving team committed to building observable on-chain data and enabling sophisticated research across ecosystems like Ethereum, Solana, and more, in a remote-first environment

Qualifications

• Strong CS fundamentals and ability to learn new technologies.
• Understanding of distributed system design.
• Familiarity with blockchain tech and RPC.
• Experience with datalakes/formats like Parquet, Delta Lake, Iceberg.
• Collaborative teammate with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop distributed systems with principled architecture decisions.
• Tackle challenges in distributed systems, large databases, SQL processing, data modelling, or performance.
• Own components of the blockchain data platform such as data ingestion/decoding.
• Write Kotlin and Go, with Java and Rust as needed, focusing on design and performance.
• Improve developer experience with tests, CI, and deployment tooling.
• Automate incident diagnosis and resolution, leveraging AI where possible.
• Work with a fast, highly capable engineering team.
• Build AI agents for automation within the team.
