Job summary

Hazel is hiring a data platform lead who will own ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and reliability across the stack. You will also advance AI-native agents to build and test new integrations end-to-end.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building production data infrastructure, with real ownership of a warehouse.
• Deep understanding of dbt and SQL.
• Strong Python.
• Ownership of an orchestrator in production (Dagster, Airflow, Temporal, Prefect).
• AI-native in practice; using coding agents to scale work.
• Writes documentation well; documentation is a feature.
• Comfortable being the only person who does this job.

Responsibilities

• Own data platform end to end: ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and reliability.
• Develop AI agents to write, build, and test new integrations end to end.
• Own data platform reliability as we scale.
• Optimize ingestion pipelines for low-latency data availability; handle peak season surges.
• Build data transformation layer for clean, predictable data.
• Automate your job, especially data integrations and transformations.
• Ship new source integrations end to end.
