Job summary

Hazel, the AI coworker for consumer brands, seeks a senior data platform engineer in New York City. You’ll own ingestion, transformation, and orchestration across a massive data layer and build AI agents to extend Hazel’s integrations.

You’ll collaborate to ensure reliable data, low latency, and scalable playbooks while designing multi-tenant data flows. Hybrid work near NYC is offered along with strong comp and benefits.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building production data infrastructure with ownership of a warehouse.
• Deep understanding of dbt and SQL; strong data modeling opinions.
• Strong Python proficiency for ingestion layers.
• Experience with orchestration systems (Dagster, Airflow, Temporal, etc.).
• AI-native approach; can document and explain automated work.

Responsibilities

• Own data platform end to end — ingestion, transformation, orchestration, reliability.
• Develop AI agents that write, build, and test new integrations end-to-end.
• Automate data integrations and transformations to scale.
• Ship new source integrations from end to end.
• Optimize ingestion pipelines for low-latency data availability during peak periods.
