Job summary

Robinhood is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead architectural direction across storage, streaming, and data lake platforms in the Data Platform organization. You will shape systems that power real-time and batch analytics used by millions of users.

You’ll drive 0-1 initiatives, partner with engineering leaders to align roadmaps, and guide multi-team execution while raising the technical bar across Robinhood’s data infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience building and scaling distributed systems across storage, streaming, or data lake platforms.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and DynamoDB including replication and sharding.
• Experience with Kafka, Flink, or similar streaming systems.
• Familiarity with Spark or Delta Lake for large-scale data processing.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural direction across storage, streaming, and data lake platforms.
• Design and guide distributed systems, including database sharding and proxy routing.
• Improve data freshness and latency by evolving streaming and ingestion systems.
• Partner with engineering leaders to define platform strategy, align roadmaps, and ensure reliability and performance.
• Drive 0-1 initiatives to introduce new platform capabilities.
