Zusammenfassung

TelevisaUnivision is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to lead design, development, and deployment of the data platform powering ViX. You will set architectural direction, stay hands-on with real-time and batch data problems, and mentor engineers across teams.

The ideal candidate has deep GCP expertise (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Composer), strong Python/SQL skills, and a track record of scaling data systems in a large media environment.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
• 12+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or Big Data environments
• 2+ years in a Tech-lead role setting technical direction across teams
• Demonstrated mentoring and development of junior/mid-level engineers
• Proven track record designing and running real-time data platforms in production at high volume
• Expert-level experience with GCP: BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Cloud Storage; AWS considered
• Expert-level Python and SQL, with dbt
• Deep knowledge of stream processing: event time, windowing, exactly-once, backpressure; Kafka/Flink/Spark
• Data modeling for analytics and lakehouse formats; CI/CD for data pipelines
• Ownership of data reliability: SLOs, observability, incident management and postmortems
• Experience reducing cloud data platform cost at scale
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills

Aufgaben

• Architect data platform direction and governance across teams
• Build reference implementations, frameworks, reusable libraries
• Design real-time pipelines on Pub/Sub and Dataflow with schema evolution
• Own pipelines end-to-end: design, development, testing, deployment, production support
• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, Analysts, and Eng teams
• Analyze opportunities for operational improvements and cost efficiency
• Lead incident response and postmortems for data incidents
• Mentor and coach junior engineers; participate in technical interviews
