Job summary

TelevisaUnivision in the United States is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to lead architecture and engineering for ViX data platform. You will design, implement, and deploy high-volume pipelines, mentor engineers, and partner with product and analytics teams to drive data-driven decisions.

You will shape multi-quarter strategy, ensure data quality and security, and optimize performance and cost across the data ecosystem while collaborating with executives and technical peers.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering, data warehousing, or big data environments.
• 2+ years in a tech-lead role setting technical direction across teams.
• Experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
• Proven track record running real-time data platforms in production at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design platform architecture and technical strategy for data platform.
• Build reference implementations, frameworks, and reusable libraries.
• Lead real-time pipelines on Pub/Sub and Dataflow with exactly-once processing.
• Own pipelines end-to-end from design to production support.
• Ensure data quality, security, and availability across the data ecosystem.
• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, Analysts, and Eng teams.
• Drive cost efficiency and performance optimization for data storage and processing.
• Lead incident reviews and drive systemic fixes.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Evaluate emerging tech including AI-assisted data tooling.
