Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior Data Modeler to design, implement, and document complex data architectures across relational, dimensional, and NoSQL stores. The role supports BI, ML, and data science initiatives within the payer industry.

You will lead data modeling efforts on Snowflake, guide enterprise data governance, and mentor junior modelers while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree required.
• 5+ years of related experience in data modeling/architecture.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Designs conceptual, logical and physical data models using ER and Dimensional modeling techniques.
• Analyzes data to verify business requirements and design data models.
• Participates in architectural discussions to govern data assets and data flows.
• Generates DDL/SQL for views for DBA implementation.
• Maintains the data dictionary with governance teams and business users.
• Leads and mentors other data modelers and suggests process improvements.
