Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina is seeking a Senior Data Modeler to design, implement, and document complex data architectures supporting BI, ML, and data science within the payer industry.

You will create conceptual, logical, and physical models across relational, dimensional, and NoSQL stores, and mentor other modelers while aligning with governance and security requirements. Hybrid work options available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree is required or 7+ years in related field in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years of experience in data modeling, architecture, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Create conceptual, logical and physical data models using ER and Dimensional modeling techniques.
• Analyze data to verify business requirements and design data models.
• Contribute to data architecture and governance, document data flows and security needs.
• Generate DDL/SQL for views for DBA implementation.
• Develop data dictionaries with data governance coordination.
• Lead model review sessions and drive modeling standards.
• Design Snowflake Silver and Gold analytics layers for multiple departments.
• Mentor other data modelers and contribute to process improvements.
