Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina is seeking a Senior Data Modeler to design, implement, and document complex data architectures across relational, dimensional, and NoSQL stores, enabling BI, ML, and data science initiatives.

You will lead modeling efforts, mentor peers, and contribute to Snowflake silver and gold layers, with hybrid work options and a strong focus on enterprise data governance and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
• 5+ years of experience in related field.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Data Modeling: Creates fully attributed and documented conceptual, logical and physical models using ER and Dimensional modeling techniques.
• Requirement Analysis: Analyzes data to verify business requirements and design the data models.
• Data Architecture: Participates in project specific architectural working groups to provide expertise in modeling and data management.
• Standard Query Language: Generates first cut physical model DDL and SQL for views for implementation by the DBA.
• Documentation: Creates, validates, and updates the data dictionary with data governance.
• Standards & Process: Facilitates model review sessions and revises data modeling standards.
