Job summary

Sherwin-Williams is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines and warehouses at our Cleveland Headquarters. You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to ensure secure, compliant, and scalable data infrastructure.

You will lead data engineering initiatives across ingestion, transformation, and governance, while advancing data storage solutions in both on‑prem and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/IT or 7+ years of data engineering experience.
• 4-6+ years of data engineering experience.
• 2-4 years of SQL experience (PostgreSQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL, SnowSQL).
• 2-4+ years of experience with building applications, system integrations, and web services.
• 2-4+ years of experience with Linux scripting (bash).
• Advanced understanding of Oracle/Snowflake databases and performance tuning.
• Experience with on-prem and cloud-based ETL tools and processes.
• Basic understanding of OTC, P2P, PIM business processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of data engineers with technical guidance and mentorship.
• Serve as technical point of contact for clients and stakeholders on data issues.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Develop data models and schemas to support storage and retrieval.
• Optimize storage, processing, and retrieval for performance and scale.
• Provide guidance on data engineering tools and technologies.
• Adopt best practices and standards for data engineering workflows.
• Stay current with emerging data tech and assess impact on infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data sources.
