Job summary

Talan is seeking a Senior Data Integration Developer to support a mission-critical Energy Trading and Risk Management environment in Houston. You will own FIS Aligne integrations, data pipelines, databases, and downstream applications within a small team.

The role covers 300+ data pipelines, 150+ reports, and multiple dashboards used by Front Office, Risk, Settlements, and Operations. Hybrid work with significant onsite presence is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant development/data integration experience, ideally in a senior capacity.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, SQL, SSIS, ETL, and data integration.
• Experience with on-premise Microsoft technologies.
• Experience with data warehousing, data ingestion, database development, and production support.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and database skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership within a small technical team.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact directly with business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot ETL and data integration pipelines.
• Build and support SSIS / SQL Server Integration Services solutions in an on-premise Microsoft environment.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database processes.
• Support data ingestion from market, pricing, weather, broker, ISO, trade, and transactional data sources.
• Maintain downstream data warehouses supporting historical reporting, KPIs, dashboards, and analytics.
• Investigate production issues, failed data pipelines, and data discrepancies.
• Support integrations between FIS Aligne and upstream/downstream systems.
• Work directly with business users across trading, risk, settlements, and operations.
• Contribute to Python-based data processing, automation, and integration solutions.
• Take ownership of critical systems while the organization continues its migration toward its future trading platform.
