Job summary

Talen Energy's Information Technology team in Houston seeks a Senior Systems Analyst to support Commercial Risk applications such as Openlink, PowerOptix, and cQuant. You will implement, maintain, and optimize these systems and their integrations, serving as the bridge between business users and technical teams in a fast-paced trading environment.

The role emphasizes production support, requirements gathering, and process improvements to enhance reliability, data quality, and risk reporting.

Qualifications

10+ years’ experience as a Systems Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Application Analyst, or similar role supporting complex enterprise applications.
Experience supporting Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM/CTRM) systems or applications within energy, commodities, trading, risk management, or financial services environments.
Strong knowledge of Front to Back business processes including trade exchange integration, trade capture, mark-to-market, confirmations, settlements and accounting, compliance, and risk reporting.
Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, with the ability to analyze data and perform application and integration troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Support the implementation, configuration, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of Openlink, PowerOptix, cQuant, custom applications, and related system integrations.
Provide day-to-day production support for Commercial Risk applications, proactively managing incidents and ensuring timely issue resolution.
Partner with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements, evaluate options, and translate requirements into clear specifications.
Coordinate activities between business users, application teams, vendors, and technology teams to ensure successful delivery of solutions.
