Senior Data Integration Developer – Healthcare & Public Health

Location: Austin, TX | Hybrid

CornerStone Technology Talent Services is seeking a Senior Data Integration Developer to help modernize public health data systems. This opportunity is ideal for a hands‑on developer who can turn complex health data and manual processes into reliable automated workflows, integrated systems, and actionable dashboards. In this role, you’ll collaborate with epidemiologists, program leaders, and technical teams to improve how electronic health information supports public health surveillance.

What You’ll Do

• Assess existing systems and workflows, identify integration gaps, and translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Develop, test, and maintain programs using SAS, Python, R, or similar languages to extract, validate, transform, and integrate complex data.
• Build automated workflows that ingest electronic case reports, populate registry fields, and reduce manual record review.
• Develop dashboards that support case prioritization, operational visibility, and modernization efforts.
• Validate data accuracy, completeness, and reliability across source systems and downstream applications.
• Troubleshoot integration issues and refine data processing, standardization, linkage, and matching methods.
• Document code, data mappings, validation rules, technical specifications, and support procedures.
• Recommend practical improvements that make integrations sustainable and easier to maintain.

What You Bring

• Eight or more years of experience in each of the following areas: Developing, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting scripts using SAS, Python, R, or a comparable programming language.
• System integration, dashboard development, and workflow automation.
• Working with structured or semi-structured healthcare, public health, or other complex administrative datasets, including database querying.
• Gathering and documenting business and system requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
• Testing and validating automated data integration processes.
• Creating clear code documentation, technical specifications, and workflow procedures.
• Applying analytical problem‑solving skills and collaborating effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Experience That Will Help You Stand Out

• Two or more years of experience with Electronic case reporting, electronic initial case reports, electronic health records, or health information exchanges.
• Healthcare interoperability standards and formats such as HL7, FHIR, and XML.
• Clinical terminology standards such as SNOMED CT.
• SQL, relational databases, automated data pipelines, and ETL processes.
• Public health surveillance systems, clinical registries, or data linkage and matching.

Work Arrangement
