Job summary

TikTok is hiring a Data Infrastructure Site Reliability Engineer to ensure reliability, scalability, and efficiency of core data services. You will work on a massive distributed environment with Kubernetes, Redis, MySQL, and a focus on resilience rather than feature development.

The role includes participation in rotational on-call coverage, handling production incidents, and collaborating across time zones to maintain system stability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in Site Reliability/Production Engineering or similar roles.
• Strong automation skills in Go, Python, or Bash for tooling.
• Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix, networking, and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Incident response and postmortems; lead triage and blameless reviews.
• Define and maintain SLOs/SLA and manage error budgets.
• Capac ity planning, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
• Design pragmatic automation and AI orchestration to reduce toil.
• Uphold production standards, runbooks, monitoring, and change management.
• Lead Data Center and AI infrastructure efforts for high availability.
• Mentor junior SREs and influence cross-team reliability efforts.
