Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC is seeking a highly motivated Site Reliability Engineer to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability of production systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and operate large-scale, high-availability infrastructure.

You will mentor team members, diagnose production issues with software engineers, and continuously monitor system health while driving improvements and disaster recovery planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or above degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Production Engineering or similar role, working with large-scale distributed systems.
• In-depth knowledge of containers and container orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Unix/Linux systems administration, network fundamentals and storage systems.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Ruby, Rust, JavaScript).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and operate large-scale, high-availability systems.
• Develop and maintain automation tools and processes to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Act as a technical lead for SRE initiatives, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Work closely with software engineers to diagnose and resolve production issues.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate the health of systems, addressing issues proactively.
• Drive infrastructure and process improvements through experimentation and research.
• Participate in disaster recovery design and implementation.
