Job summary

Expedition Medicines seeks a Senior/Principal Data Infrastructure Engineer to design and own the data systems that make proteomics data discoverable, trustworthy, and usable. You will build production-grade systems for ML scientists, medicinal chemists, and biology teams, with a focus on scale and reliability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data infrastructure or related field in biotech or life sciences.
• Capable of designing and operating terabyte-scale data systems with minimal oversight.
• Proven ability to set technical direction and deliver complex projects.
• Cloud (AWS/Azure) and IaC tools experience; data modeling with modern warehouses.
• Experience with data pipelines and workflow orchestration tools.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build a scalable data platform integrating proteomics data with tools.
• Define the technical roadmap for data infrastructure and high-leverage problems.
• Automate workflows across proteomics environments and integrate LIMS.
• Develop data pipelines with Flyte, Dagster, or Airflow; ensure reproducibility.
• Design cloud infrastructure with CI/CD and IaC for reliability and security.
• Maintain data integrity, lineage, and cross-team data sharing standards.
• Collaborate with proteomics, chemistry, biology, and ML teams; mentor staff.
