Job summary

Superhuman is seeking a Senior Engineer for the Data Platform team to build a governance layer across a high-scale data platform. You will own privacy, security, compliance, and metadata management, shaping systems that process billions of events daily.

You will collaborate with Privacy, Legal, Security, and Trust Engineering, mentor engineers, and guide platform evolution while delivering scalable, reliable data solutions in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience with large-scale distributed computing systems.
• 5+ years of experience running live production environments, high-load data workflows.
• Strong fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
• Hands-on experience with Spark and lakehouse/cloud data warehouses (Databricks, Delta Lake, Snowflake).
• Ability to design scalable data models and architectures with governance and privacy regulations.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead data governance architecture across the platform.
• Design secure, scalable data pipelines and storage.
• Champion metadata management and data lineage across systems.
• Make high-level architectural decisions for platform evolution.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with Privacy, Legal, Security, and Trust teams.
• Partner with leadership to shape technical roadmaps.
