Job summary

Eide Bailly LLP seeks a Data Governance Manager to lead enterprise governance, oversee Microsoft Fabric platforms, and partner with IT Security on data protection. The role emphasizes policy execution, risk mitigation, and governance adoption across data owners and stewards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Cybersecurity, or related field.
7+ years of progressive experience in data governance, analytics, security, platform administration, or related technology disciplines.
Experience administering enterprise analytics and data platforms, including Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Synapse, Azure Data Services, or similar.
Experience managing data governance, security, access controls, and platform administration with a high degree of independence.
SQL, Python, or similar technical skills preferred.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, OneLake, workspace administration, security roles, sharing models, and capacity management.
Knowledge of metadata management, business glossaries, lineage, stewardship, and data catalog administration.
Experience administering SharePoint and supporting secure management of unstructured content.
Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Azure security administration, service principals, privileged access management, and identity governance.
Understanding of data security principles including zero trust, least privilege, labeling, and DLP.
Ability to analyze governance, security, and compliance risks and implement practical solutions.
Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder relationship-building skills.
Ability to influence data governance adoption across multiple groups.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Execute and monitor enterprise data governance policies, standards, controls across the firm's data and analytics ecosystem.
Administer and maintain the enterprise data governance platform, including data domains, sources, metadata, glossaries, lineage, and catalogs.
Identify and onboard Data Owners, Data Stewards, and Data Readers to establish accountability and governance adoption.
Facilitate creation and maintenance of data products, governance docs, business definitions, and governance workflows.
Serve as Microsoft Fabric Tenant Administrator, overseeing capacity, workspace, lifecycle, and platform governance standards.
Monitor platform usage and access patterns; provide guidance on data management, security, and governance best practices.
Partner with IT Security to implement data classification, sensitivity labeling, DLP, and security controls.
Administer enterprise data access and security, including OneLake Security, RBAC, security groups, and service principals.
Conduct access reviews and governance audits to ensure zero trust, least privilege, and data protection compliance.
Monitor telemetry, audit logs, governance metrics, and compliance to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
Support governance maturity initiatives, roadmaps, and development of governance standards.
Participate in governance councils and cross-functional initiatives to promote adoption.
Serve as escalation point for complex governance and access management issues.
Support governance standards for emerging technologies, including AI and automation.
