Job description

We are seeking a seasoned Lead – Data Governance professional to drive enterprise data governance initiatives across modern cloud data platforms. This role will lead the design and implementation of governance frameworks, data policies, cataloging, lineage, and compliance processes using Microsoft data ecosystem tools, primarily Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Fabric. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance domain and understands regulatory, risk, underwriting, and claims data landscapes.

About the Role

This role will lead the design and implementation of governance frameworks, data policies, cataloging, lineage, and compliance processes using Microsoft data ecosystem tools, primarily Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Fabric.

Responsibilities

Data Governance Leadership

• Define and implement enterprise-wide data governance strategy, framework, and operating model
• Establish data stewardship programs, governance councils, and data ownership models
• Develop and enforce data standards, policies, quality rules, and compliance controls

Platform & Tooling

• Lead implementation of governance capabilities using Microsoft Purview
• Data cataloging and classification
• Metadata management
• Data lineage and impact analysis
• Data access policies and compliance monitoring
• Collaborate with engineering teams to enable governed analytics and data products on Microsoft Fabric
• Integrate governance controls across Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and BI ecosystems

Data Quality & Compliance

• Define enterprise data quality frameworks and monitoring processes
• Implement controls for regulatory and privacy compliance
• Ensure auditability, traceability, and trusted data usage across the organization

Insurance Domain Alignment

• Govern critical P&C datasets across:
• Policy administration
• Claims processing
• Risk & actuarial analytics
• Reinsurance and regulatory reporting
• Align governance practices with insurance regulatory requirements and reporting standards

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with Data Engineering, Analytics, Security, and Business teams
• Drive data literacy and governance adoption across business units
• Communicate governance KPIs and maturity metrics to leadership
