CVS Health seeks a Senior Manager, Data Engineering to lead a 10–12 person team of data engineers and DBAs. You’ll guide data platforms, ingestion, transformation, and analytics to support operations, reporting, and business growth.

You’ll partner with senior leaders to align priorities, drive reliability, and advance platform health. This role emphasizes operational excellence, governance, and scalable data capabilities across the organization.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data engineering or related engineering disciplines with enterprise-scale solutions.
• 7+ years with SQL and database technologies; data modeling and performance optimization.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams and managing performance.
• 5+ years in operational excellence, service stability, and continuous improvement.
• 5+ years cross-functional collaboration across engineering, security, and business teams.
• 2+ years using AI-enabled tools to boost productivity with human oversight where needed.
• Excellent business acumen and communication skills with senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of data engineers and DBAs, with clear expectations and growth.
• Oversee design and delivery of data platforms, pipelines, storage, and analytics solutions.
• Drive operational excellence, monitoring, resiliency, and automation across data environments.
• Provide leadership across data engineering, database management, and platform responsibilities.
• Partner with engineering, architecture, security, and business teams on reliable, scalable solutions.
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence and responsible use of AI tools.
