Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Engineering to lead a growing team of data engineers and DBAs, delivering reliable, scalable data platforms that support analytics, reporting and business growth.

You will guide a team of 10–12 professionals, drive architectural excellence, ensure service reliability, and partner with senior leaders to translate priorities into actionable data solutions. Strong SQL, cloud experience, and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of data engineering, database engineering, or data platform operations experience.
• 7+ years of SQL and database technologies experience.
• 5+ years of leadership and people-management experience.
• 5+ years driving operational excellence, service stability, and continuous improvement in complex tech environments.
• 2+ years using AI-enabled tools to improve productivity and workflows.
• Excellent business acumen and communication skills for engaging with senior leaders.
• Proven analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of data engineers and DBAs, with responsibility for growth and talent strategy.
• Oversee design, delivery, and support of data platforms and analytics solutions for operational use cases.
• Drive operational excellence, monitoring, resiliency planning, and automation to reduce risk.
• Provide cross-functional leadership across data engineering, DBAs, and platform infrastructure.
• Partner with engineering, architecture, security and business teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement, including responsible use of AI tools.
