Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines across batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven flows. You will work as a core Snowflake developer, optimizing data modeling, storage, and performance while advancing semantic layers for AI-enabled analytics.

Lead and mentor a data engineer, influence CI/CD practices and collaborate across teams to deliver reusable data products and secure data sharing. Strong Python and SQL skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, or related field preferred.
• Five+ years of dedicated data engineering experience building production-grade data pipelines.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on‑prem to cloud) using batch, streaming, and event-driven patterns.
• Experience building or maintaining semantic layers and structuring data for downstream AI or NLP capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data movement.
• Serves as core developer for Snowflake data platform, supporting performance, data modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high-quality inputs to Snowflake and dbt features.
• Designs semantic layers and metadata models to support Self-Service 2.0 NLP UIs.
• Establishes reusable templates and CI/CD practices to enable decentralized teams to build data products safely.
