Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines across batch, streaming, and event-driven architectures. You will be a core developer for the Snowflake platform, optimizing performance and data sharing while enabling AI-ready data foundations for downstream analytics.

The role emphasizes semantic layers, dbt adoption, and cloud tool integration (Azure/AWS). A strong lead-minded engineer will mentor others and shape governance across teams.

Qualifications

• Five (5)+ years of dedicated data engineering experience building production-grade data pipelines.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on-prem to cloud) using batch, streaming, and event-driven patterns.
• Experience building or maintaining semantic layers for downstream AI / LLM / NLP search capabilities.
• Knowledge of reference architectures, reusable pipelines, templates, and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data movement.
• Core developer for Snowflake data platform, supporting performance, modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high-quality inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Designs and maintains semantic layers and metadata for Self-Service 2.0 interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures and CI/CD practices enabling decentralized teams to build data products safely.
