Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data pipelines across on-prem and cloud sources, with a focus on Snowflake and dbt AI features. You will shape semantic models and governance for AI-enabled data consumption.

The role requires 5+ years of data engineering, strong Snowflake expertise, and proven ability to move data across hybrid environments. Collaboration across cross-functional teams is essential, with opportunities for mentorship and growth.

Qualifications

• Five (5)+ years of dedicated data engineering experience with production-grade pipelines.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on-premises to cloud) using batch, streaming, and event-driven patterns.
• Experience with semantic layers and structuring data for downstream AI / NLP / LLM capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven movement from on-prem and cloud sources.
• Core developer for Snowflake platform, supporting performance, data modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high-quality data inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Maintains semantic layers and metadata models to support Self-Service 2.0 natural-language interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD practices for decentralized teams.
• Provides direct management and mentorship to one data engineer, with potential growth of the team.
• Drives adoption of dbt and evaluates integration of AWS/Azure tools to optimize data flow.
