Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own the governed transformation layer end-to-end. You will design and build Snowflake transformation layers, migrate legacy SQL views into versioned, tested dbt models, and define conformed dimensions for unified multi-ERP data.

The role emphasizes modeling standards, CI/CD, and collaboration with AI/analytics teams. W2, remote work available, salary range $101,000–$161,800 per year.

Qualifications

• This role requires 7+ years in data or analytics engineering with 4+ years on a cloud data warehouse, preferably Snowflake.
• Expert SQL knowledge including window functions, performance tuning, and incremental loads.
• 3+ years of production dbt experience with macros, tests, snapshots, and documentation.
• Hands-on Kimball dimensional modeling with star schemas and SCD Type 1/2.
• Experience with data ingestion tools and orchestration systems, plus Git-based CI/CD.
• Proficiency in Python for data tooling and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the Snowflake transformation layer from raw to staging to conformed to marts.
• Migrate SQL views to versioned, tested dbt models with full lineage.
• Define conformed dimensions and operational facts across multi-ERP environments.
• Set modeling, testing, naming, documentation, and CI/CD standards.
• Collaborate with BI teams to validate semantic equivalence and minimize BI cutover disruption.
• Own semantic layer across Snowflake, dbt, and Power BI for consistent metrics.
• Implement data quality testing, observability, and lineage with dbt tests.
• Support AI/ML workloads and agent-ready data with stable keys and metadata.
• Partner with IT Audit on SOX controls and governance.
