Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Hawaii to design and maintain scalable data pipelines, with emphasis on Snowflake and dbt AI features.

You will lead a small team of data engineers, mentor analysts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data products for AI and NL search capabilities. Experience with Azure/AWS cloud data tools is preferred and strong Python/SQL skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of dedicated data engineering experience building production-grade pipelines.
• Advanced Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing experience.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on-prem to cloud).
• Experience building semantic layers for AI, LLM, or NLP search capabilities.
• Strong Python and SQL skills; familiarity with dbt and Azure data tools.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven movement.
• Core developer for the Snowflake data platform; optimize performance and storage.
• Architect transformation pipelines delivering high-quality data to Snowflake and dbt features.
• Maintains semantic layers and metadata models for self-service NL interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, templates, and CI/CD practices across teams.
• Provides mentorship to one data engineer and guides data analysts in engineering practices.
• Drives dbt adoption and evaluates Azure/AWS data tools for optimized data flow.
