Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines across on-prem and cloud sources, with a focus on Snowflake, dbt, and data modeling. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/Data Eng or related field.
• 5+ years of data engineering experience.
• Advanced Snowflake performance tuning.
• Experience moving data between on-prem and cloud (batch/stream).
• Knowledge of semantic layers and AI data prep.
• Strong Python and SQL skills; cloud experience.
• Experience with dbt and Azure data tools.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data movement from on-prem and cloud sources.
• Core developer for the Snowflake data platform; supports performance, data modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high-quality data inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Maintains semantic layers and metadata models for Self-Service 2.0 NLP interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD best practices for decentralized teams.
• Provides direct management and mentorship to one data engineer, guiding analysts in engineering practices.
• Drives adoption of dbt for data transformation; evaluates AWS and Azure cloud tools to optimize data flow.
