Job summary

Medica is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to advance healthcare data from Bronze to Silver using Snowflake and CIM standards. You will collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business experts to interpret source data, document rules, resolve data-quality issues, and make high-value information available organization-wide.

The role emphasizes data quality, automated testing, and scalable transformations across ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers, with onsite Minnetonka

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 7+ years of work experience beyond degree.
• Significant experience in software/data engineering, data integration, data warehousing.
• Advanced SQL skills with large, complex datasets.
• Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with dimensional/relational/enterprise data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support scalable data pipelines within Snowflake.
• Standardize raw data into Silver-layer models aligned with CIM.
• Analyze source data, rules, and processing behavior.
• Translate healthcare data knowledge into durable transformation logic and data-quality controls.
• Develop reusable data models supporting analytics, reporting, and workflows.
• Profile data to identify quality problems and discrepancies between sources.
• Validate data meaning and transformation rules with subject-matter experts.
• Establish automated reconciliation, validation, observability, and tests.
• Investigate production issues and resolve defects across layers.
