Job summary

Credit Genie is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own the design and operation of scalable data pipelines across Snowflake and AWS. You will tackle complex data problems, ensure data reliability, and enable analytics across the organization.

You will design ETL/ELT patterns, write high-quality SQL and Python, and strengthen data quality monitoring. Collaboration with Analytics, Data Science, Product, and Engineering will be key to delivering data products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Data Engineering or closely related experience designing, building, and operating production data systems.
• Advanced SQL skills and strong proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and production engineering.
• Strong experience with Snowflake and AWS cloud infrastructure including performance, reliability, and cost considerations.
• Deep experience with ETL/ELT, orchestration, schema design, and data modeling using tools such as dbt, Airflow, or similar technologies.
• Experience with batch and real-time data architectures, including streaming and CDC technologies and their operational tradeoffs.
• Experience designing data quality controls, testing frameworks, monitoring, observability, and production support for data pipelines.
• Knowledge of Git-based development, CI/CD, automated testing, and modern software engineering practices for data systems.
• Ability to independently solve complex technical problems, communicate tradeoffs to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate reliable data pipelines for first-party and third-party data across batch, streaming, and CDC patterns.
• Lead the technical design of ETL/ELT processes and orchestration workflows for performance and cost efficiency.
• Develop high-quality SQL and Python solutions for data transformation and validation.
• Strengthen data quality, freshness monitoring, alerting, and observability to prevent downstream issues.
• Optimize Snowflake workloads, storage, and pipeline architecture for reliability and scalability.
• Investigate production data incidents, identify root causes, and implement durable fixes.
• Collaborate with Analytics, Data Science, Product, and Engineering to define data contracts and deliver data products.
• Promote engineering standards, testing, version control, CI/CD, and code review practices.
