Job summary

Luna Health is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own data architecture end-to-end, reporting to the Director of Data Science. You will translate clinical, regulatory, and commercial needs into instrumentation specifications, build scalable data models, and implement robust pipelines on Google Cloud.

The role is onsite/hybrid in San Diego, with 3+ days/week in the office. You will collaborate across data science, engineering, operations, and regulatory teams to ensure data quality and regulatory

Qualifications

• 7+ years of data engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
• Working knowledge of cloud data platforms (Google Cloud, BigQuery, Firestore)
• Experience translating business and scientific needs into data models and instrumentation
• Ability to work across teams to translate requirements into specifications

Responsibilities

• Data modeling & instrumentation definition: define data needs and translate into data models and specs
• Data infrastructure & pipelines: build and maintain transformation pipelines on Google Cloud and BigQuery; own warehouse schema, versioning and data quality
• Manufacturing & operational data: build infrastructure for manufacturing data, lot tracking, supply chain and process metrics
• Analysis & data quality: define data quality metrics, implement checks, support regulatory and operational stakeholders
