This hands-on role requires clear documentation, strong SQL, Python, and a proactive approach to data quality and governance across the platform.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL including T-SQL to write and debug production analytical queries.
• Proficient Python for data transformation notebooks.
• Expertise in DAX measure authoring and performance tuning.
• Experience owning a large centralized semantic model.
• Collaborates with data engineering and BI partners on shared infrastructure.
• Ability to defend architectural decisions to technical and business audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and backend queries for the semantic layer.
• Own the data modeling and architecture of the semantic layer end to end.
• Author, maintain, and tune the DAX measure layer for downstream reports.
• Implement data frameworks ensuring data consistency and accuracy.
• Produce model documentation for analysts and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with BI and data engineering on source changes and deployments.
• Serve as technical point of contact for downstream model issues and fixes.
• Perform on-demand analysis to identify strategic opportunities and efficiencies.
• Mentor apprentice team members on model quality and report migration.
• Contribute to applied AI efforts and semantic model documentation.
