Job summary

Jellyvision is redefining how organizations manage benefits with ALEX Home. A Senior Data Engineer will design and operate data pipelines across legacy and new platforms, owning data systems and improving operational health as the platform evolves.

You'll work on a small, high-ownership team that values reliability, observability, and thoughtful engineering decisions, with a remote-friendly setup and a starting salary in the $165k–$185k range.

Qualifications

• 6-8+ years of data engineering experience with ownership of production systems.
• Strong pipeline design and orchestration in a production environment.
• Advanced SQL: complex transformations and performance tuning.
• Strong Python for production-grade code, scripting, testing, and debugging.
• IaC for provisioning cloud data resources.
• Familiarity with AWS data infrastructure (S3, IAM, services).
• Experience inheriting and improving systems you didn’t build.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate data pipelines across legacy and new platform infrastructure.
• Own pipeline operations end to end: monitoring, incidents, data quality.
• Improve data systems through documentation, observability, and reliability enhancements.
• Provision and manage data infrastructure using IaC and platform standards.
• Collaborate across the data platform to support flexible priorities.
