Job summary

SHI is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join SHI One within the Advanced Solutions Group. You will analyze, design, and develop data engineering solutions and ETL workflows for internal users, customers, and partners.

You will research data sources, outline integration designs, centralize data, and establish a new data engineering practice as a technical leader in the Product organization. This remote role supports US-based teams and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
• Minimum 10 years' experience developing data applications, relational databases, and ETL platforms.
• Experience building highly available ETL systems that support critical business operations.
• Expert knowledge of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing.
• Expert knowledge of SQL scripting.
• Excellent spoken and written communication; receptive listening.
• Ability to present ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to shift priorities and timelines through analytical thinking.
• Strong ability to work independently or in a team-oriented environment.
• Take initiative and prioritize tasks; strong time-management skills.
• Strong problem prevention and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Help drive our organizational data strategy, including data model designs and data warehouse management.
• Collaborate with team members through code/design reviews to ensure standard integration.
• Ship high quality solutions and maintain technical excellence.
• Coordinate with development teams, stakeholders, and customers for smooth data system operations.
• Extend a data engineering environment focusing on developer experience and testing.
• Lead in creating and maintaining technical docs, architecture diagrams, and visualizations.
• Review data architecture best practices with internal teams.
