BitGo in Palo Alto is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team and help build, scale, and optimize our data platform, reporting infrastructure, and data-driven products.

The ideal candidate blends software engineering and data engineering—designing robust data pipelines, implementing data warehouses with Snowflake/BigQuery, and enabling real-time insights for product and security teams.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 6+ years of combined Software Engineering and Data Engineering work experience.
• Strong experience with server-side languages like TypeScript/Node.JS/Python.
• Strong experience with SQL databases like Postgres or MySQL.
• Strong experience with RESTful API design.
• Experience building data pipelines/ETL and familiarity with design principles.
• Experience with data warehouse technologies and modeling (Snowflake/BigQuery/Spark/Presto/Druid).
• Strong systems design and event-driven systems (Kafka).
• Self-starter, decisive, and able to work independently.
• Experience with unit/functional testing, debugging, and CI tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines from internal systems.
• Integrate external data sources to enrich the data platform.
• Develop applications supporting customer-facing products and internal systems.
• Enhance BitGo’s blockchain reporting infrastructure and reconciliation systems.
• Ensure data quality and auditability across pipelines.
• Optimize data systems for near real-time processing and insights.
• Create self-service tools for data consumers to extract and analyze data.
• Research and prototype new technologies to improve data engineering.
