Job summary

DraftKings Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build real-time data capabilities powering analytics, reporting, and AI-powered experiences across the platform.

You will design scalable data infrastructure and partner with Engineering and Analytics to translate complex requirements into analytics-ready datasets. You'll collaborate across teams to drive data models, governance, and observability while mentoring engineers in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years designing and maintaining scalable data platforms and distributed systems.
• Strong Python and SQL, with real-time data streaming experience.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Kafka, and cloud data platforms.
• Familiarity with AWS and DevOps tools like Terraform, PagerDuty, and Datadog.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, data lakes, ETL, and Data Vault/Star schema modeling.
• Experience with MongoDB or DynamoDB; BI tools like Sigma a plus.
• Hands-on use of AI-assisted engineering tools to build agents and automate workflows.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable, high-performance data infrastructure turning data into insights.
• Design/maintain real-time and batch pipelines using Kafka, Databricks, Snowflake.
• Develop data solutions powering reporting, analytics, and platform insights.
• Create AI-powered data experiences for exploring data via natural language and autonomous workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into datasets.
• Design/optimize data models (Star Schema, Data Vault) with governance and observability.
• Lead engineering best practices in data streaming, transformation, and platform performance; mentor teammates.
• Work in an Agile environment delivering scalable solutions for evolving needs.
