CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield seeks a Lead Data Engineer to provide senior technical leadership for multiple data portfolios and partner with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure data solutions.

The role focuses on modernization, reusable data products, cloud-native patterns, and governance to support core enterprise functions across Finance, HR, Legal, Audit, and Compliance.

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience leading data engineering and cross-functional teams to implement scalable ETL/ELT solutions.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, data warehouses/lakes, and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, monitor, and manage Data Integration Framework with best practices.
• Build and maintain data warehouses/lakes and data access APIs; work with Hadoop/MapReduce where applicable.
• Lead data eng initiatives across Shared Services domains; mentor engineers and ensure delivery quality.
