Job summary

Zoom is seeking a data engineer to design and maintain the data infrastructure powering workforce insights for the People Experience organization. You will transform raw HR data into analytics-ready datasets and ensure data quality across growing pipelines.

You will collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions, leveraging SQL, Python, Airflow, dbt, and AWS data services to support decision making for talent acquisition, development, and retention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Expert-level SQL and Python proficiency.
• 2+ years with Airflow and dbt for data transformation.
• Strong expertise in AWS data services and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with HR data and people analytics metrics; familiarity with Workday, Tableau or Power BI, or ML concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust ETL pipelines to integrate data from multiple HR systems and sources.
• Develop optimized data models and schemas to support analytics and reporting.
• Build and maintain scalable data infrastructure for people analytics initiatives.
• Manage Airflow workflows for pipeline orchestration and dbt models for data transformation.
• Create and optimize complex SQL queries for data analysis and reporting.
• Implement data quality checks and monitoring for accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with analysts to transform raw data into actionable business insights.
