Job summary

Sony SEPS is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the SEPS Data Science team supporting payment, subscription, and risk experiences for PlayStation's direct‑to‑consumer business. This hands‑on role builds data, dashboards, reports, and systems to help teams make data‑driven decisions while fighting fraud.

You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, engineers, and stakeholders, leveraging cloud and modern engineering practices to improve reliability, security, and scalability across

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, database development, software development, systems design, or data analysis.
• Strong SQL, data modeling, database design, DDL, DML, data validation, and performance‑optimization skills.
• Proficiency in Python or Java, with experience building automated data pipelines and workflows.
• Familiarity with Linux/Windows environments, secure data transfer, permissions, authentication, and encryption.
• Experience preparing and operationalizing data for analytics, AI, or ML use cases, including data quality, lineage, governance, feature engineering, and responsible use of AI‑assisted tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, automated workflows, monitoring, alerts, dashboards, and reporting solutions for GPFD teams.
• Develop reliable, governed, and AI‑ready data products that support analytics, automation, machine learning, and generative AI use cases.
• Partner with data scientists, analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver trusted, documented data for production workflows.
• Use cloud technologies, orchestration tools, and modern engineering practices to improve platform reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
• Document architectures, data flows, and processes, and communicate technical concepts to audiences ranging from engineering teams to executives.
• Support team growth through mentoring, knowledge sharing, technical reviews, hiring participation, and a strong commitment to protecting Sony and its customers.
