D.R. Horton in Arlington, TX is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our onsite team. You will architect and implement end-to-end data pipelines supporting trusted analytics, AI, and digital solutions.

The role emphasizes data modeling, governance, and scalable data platforms. You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with analytics, BI, and data science teams, and drive reliable data products end-to-end.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics or related field.
• 5–8 years of professional data engineering experience.
• Experience leading technical delivery of pipeline and modeling projects.
• Ability to guide and develop junior engineers while delivering on commitments.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement end-to-end data pipelines ingesting and serving data from multiple sources.
• Design data models across domains with naming conventions and standards.
• Lead initiatives addressing complex data challenges.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and automated data quality checks for reliability.
• Define and enforce CI/CD practices for data tooling and pipelines.
• Conduct technical design reviews and evaluate options for cost and performance.
• Collaborate with analytics leadership, BI, and data science to meet latency and accuracy requirements.
• Mentor Data Engineer 1 and Data Engineer 2 through code reviews and guidance.
• Partner with IT and source-system teams on data contracts and API integrations.
• Research emerging data technologies and present actionable recommendations.
