Job summary

Abbott in Madison, WI seeks a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development and testing of data applications for our ONCO Diagnostics group. You will mentor junior teammates, partner with stakeholders, and ensure scalable, secure data pipelines across the organization.

Responsibilities include building robust database architectures, enabling advanced data analytics, and documenting data interfaces and transfer mechanisms for efficient access to generic data structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics or Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Experience with Spark on Snowflake or Databricks and Python/SQL development.
• Experience building ETL data pipelines and data modeling solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design decisions for data engineering initiatives with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshoot medium-complexity issues in major software applications and fix bugs.
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance.
