Job summary

Meta is seeking a technical leader for the Data Engineering team in the Madison area. You will guide data foundation and analytics, partner with product managers, data scientists and software engineers to shape platform decisions and drive measurable impact across products.

You will own data architecture for large-scale projects, drive end-to-end analytics initiatives, and mentor teammates while scaling operations and governance in a privacy-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years in data warehouse space and ETL design/maintenance.
• 10+ years with object-oriented programming languages.
• 10+ years experience in schema design and dimensional data modeling.
• 10+ years experience authoring SQL statements.
• Experience analyzing data to identify deliverables, gaps and inconsistencies.
• Experience managing and communicating data warehouse plans to internal clients.

Responsibilities

• Proactively drive the vision for data foundation and analytics across platforms and define a plan to achieve it.
• Own data architecture for multiple large-scale projects, evaluating cost-benefit tradeoffs.
• Contribute to logging data frameworks and triage data issues with data infrastructure.
• Build cross-functional relationships with Data Scientists, Product Managers and Software Engineers to meet data needs.
• Define and manage SLAs for data sets in ownership areas.
• Implement security models aligned with privacy requirements and governance processes.
• Design and launch collections of data models and visualizations supporting multiple product domains.
• Solve challenging data integration problems using ETL patterns and diverse data sources.
• Assist in production processes, optimize code with advanced algorithms.
• Improve pipelines, dashboards, and frameworks for easier data artifact development.
• Influence product and cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities.
