Job summary

Meta's PAR team is transforming breakthrough AI research into products affecting billions of people. As a Data Engineer in Meta Superintelligence Labs (Privacy), you will own the data architecture for large-scale projects, enforce privacy controls, and collaborate with engineers, PMs, and data scientists to deliver secure, scalable data pipelines across Meta's products.

You will mentor teammates, refine logging, and drive governance across datasets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience with data engineering, analytics, or related roles.
• Proficiency with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (Python, C++, C#, Scala, etc.).
• Experience designing privacy or data-governance controls in large-scale production data pipelines, including consent/logical checks, anonymization, and data deletion/retention.
• Experience implementing access controls and governance for sensitive data via automated enforcement.
• Ability to translate privacy, legal, or regulatory requirements into technical controls with cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and own data architecture for multiple large-scale projects with cost-benefit tradeoffs.
• Create and contribute to data-logging frameworks and scalable data models.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to define data needs and visualize insights.
• Define and manage SLAs for data sets within ownership.
• Design and implement security models based on privacy requirements and governance processes.
• Build sophisticated data models and visualizations for multiple use cases across products.
• Solve complex data integration problems using ETL patterns and cross-source sourcing.
• Optimize production data pipelines and mentor engineers to drive independent ownership.
