Job summary

NinjaOne is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Emerging Products team and design and scale our modern data platform. You will build lakehouse architectures, robust streaming and batch pipelines, and ensure reliable data flows to analysts and data scientists. Work with Kafka, Spark, Iceberg, and Databricks in a greenfield environment.

You will collaborate across teams to shape data-driven products and leverage our cutting-edge stack while enabling scalable analytics and BI capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience preferred.
• 10+ years of data engineering with focus on data platform and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience building lakehouse architectures (Bronze/Silver/Gold).
• Deep expertise with Kafka, Spark, and Airflow for streaming and batch pipelines.
• Proficiency with Iceberg, Delta Lake, or Hudi for open table formats.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Medallion-layer lakehouse architectures for analytics workloads.
• Build and maintain scalable streaming and batch data pipelines using Kafka, Spark, and Airflow.
• Manage open table formats like Iceberg, Delta Lake, and Hudi and select formats for workloads.
• Optimize queries with Trino/Starburst and Databricks environments for large-scale analytics.
• Monitor data pipelines and improve reliability and performance of the platform.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to meet data requirements.
• Other duties as needed.
