SailPoint Technologies, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines and lakehouse models powering Identity Security Cloud.

You will own features end-to-end and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with product, security, and analytics teams to deliver reliable, AI-assisted, production-grade data solutions. Responsibilities include designing robust data models, improving performance and cost, and contributing to data

Qualifications

• 5+ years in production software, with data engineering focus.
• 2+ years owning pipelines, datasets, or data services.
• SQL, data modeling, and query optimization (Snowflake preferred).
• dbt and Airflow hands-on experience.
• Programming in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Distributed processing with Kafka, Flink, Spark, or Cassandra.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools in production workflows.
• Cloud-native systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance.
• Strong independent delivery and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data services.
• Own pipelines end-to-end from requirements through production support.
• Build robust data models for warehouse and lakehouse.
• Contribute to data architecture discussions and design reviews.
• Improve performance, reliability, and cost across Snowflake, Iceberg, Spark/Flink.
• Maintain graph-serving data models and access patterns as data grows.
• Implement data quality, governance, lineage, and observability standards.
• Collaborate with product, infra, security, analytics, and data science teams.
• Provide code reviews, mentorship, and strong onboarding for teammates.
• Engage in on-call rotations and translate incidents into durable fixes.
