Job summary

Baker Tilly International is seeking a Sr Data Engineer to join the founding AI Product Group (APG) team in California. You will design and operate scalable data pipelines and lakehouse architectures, enabling AI-driven applications with governance and data quality in mind.

You will collaborate across globally distributed teams, leverage Python and SQL to deliver reliable, production-ready data solutions, and drive data readiness for AI agents while maintaining strong engineering discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3 years of hands-on data engineering or software engineering experience.
• Experience building production data pipelines on a modern lakehouse.
• Strong Python and SQL, with production-quality code.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and incremental data pipelines.
• Develop lakehouse architecture with medallion data models.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, and provenance across pipelines.
• Develop data models, contracts, and identity resolution.
• Implement data governance and access controls.
• Build knowledge graphs and retrieval pipelines for AI applications.
• Collaborate with global teams to deliver production-ready data solutions.
• Own production delivery and operational support.
