Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Data Engineer for an onsite role in Richardson, TX (also in Dulles, VA). You will design semantic data models, ontologies, and knowledge graphs to connect raw operational data with AI-ready intelligence.

You will collaborate with domain experts and data engineers across enterprise platforms. The role requires a STEM degree, extensive experience with OWL, RDF, SPARQL, and graph databases, plus a TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• STEM degree required with strong technical background
• Experience using OWL, RDF, RDFS, SPARQL and related standards
• Knowledge of ontology development tools such as Protégé or TopBraid Composer
• Experience modeling conceptual, logical, and physical data models
• Experience with graph databases and graph query languages
• Experience in cross-functional Agile or DevOps environments
• Active TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship required

Responsibilities

• Design enterprise ontologies and knowledge graphs using OWL, RDF, SPARQL
• Collaborate with domain experts, data engineers, and stakeholders to formalize concepts
• Develop taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and semantic metadata schemas
• Integrate ontological structures with data platforms, AI/ML pipelines, and analytics
• Partner with AI/ML engineers to support model training and inference pipelines
• Define and enforce data governance standards across platforms
• Monitor ontology performance and drive continuous improvement
• Translate complex concepts into clear documentation for diverse audiences
