Job summary

Workday is seeking an expert to lead the vision and governance of ontologies and knowledge graphs, integrating a semantic layer to support AI‑ready knowledge bases and analytics. You will define standards for semantic modeling, collaborate with governance and analytics teams, and document all semantic structures and metrics.

Hybrid role with potential partial telecommuting. Strong background in Semantic Engineering, Data Analytics, and Data Warehousing is essential, plus extensive experience

Qualifications

• Master’s degree plus two years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
• Requires two years of experience in semantic engineering, data analytics, data architecture, data engineering, solution design, data warehousing, and computer coding.
• Bachelor’s degree plus five years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
• Requires five years of experience in semantic engineering, data analytics, data architecture, data engineering, solution design, data warehousing, and computer coding.

Responsibilities

• Lead the vision, development, implementation, and governance of ontologies and knowledge graphs.
• Architect and integrate the semantic layer for AI-ready knowledge base and analytics.
• Develop standards and best practices for knowledge representation and semantic modeling.
• Collaborate with Data Governance to define policies for governance of semantics.
• Partner with analytics engineers and data architects to understand data models and domains.
• Provide guidance on transforming and semantically enriching data for AI and BI tools.
• Maintain documentation for semantic models, metrics, definitions, relationships and metadata.
• Evaluate and monitor performance, quality and usability of semantic systems.
