Job summary

Eliassen Group seeks a senior Data Engineer to launch an IAM initiative, building low-latency GraphQL APIs and data pipelines across AWS. Emphasis on microservices, data engineering fundamentals, and production monitoring; team of two FTEs with remote EST hours and potential conversion.

Qualifications

10+ years in data engineering and backend service development.
Hands-on with GraphQL API design and implementation.
Strong PySpark/Scala and Spark, batch processing, and AWS Glue.
Experience with Snowflake and scalable data pipelines.
Advanced AWS experience: Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, and related services.
Background delivering low-latency, highly available microservices.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain low-latency GraphQL APIs.
Develop and enhance data pipelines using PySpark or Spark, Snowflake, and AWS Glue.
Implement microservices on AWS using Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB.
Ingest, transform, and serve data to power API responses with strong data modeling and quality practices.
Set up monitoring, observability, and alerting for APIs, data jobs, and microservices.
Collaborate with IAM stakeholders to support an agentic risk-identification initiative.
Contribute to architecture, security, and performance reviews for cloud-native services.
Work within EST hours in a fully remote environment and participate in a streamlined interview process.
