Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a senior freelance data engineer to consolidate and migrate customer data infra on AWS in weeks, not quarters. You will own pipelines on EMR/Glue, model data for Redshift/Snowflake, and orchestrate workflows with Airflow in a forward-deployed delivery model.

You will work with teams to meet data needs, write PySpark/SQL ETL scripts, and help deliver production systems with fast, validated cutovers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience with PySpark and SQL.
2+ years building data pipelines with EMR or Glue.
2+ years data modeling and querying with Redshift/Snowflake/Athena/Presto.
1+ years orchestration with Airflow.
Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain production data pipelines on EMR or Glue.
Design data models and end-user queries on Redshift, Snowflake, Athena, and Presto.
Build and maintain Airflow-based orchestration.
Collaborate with teams to meet data needs and design solutions.
Troubleshoot and optimize pipelines under real load.
Write PySpark and SQL scripts for ETL tasks.
Document technical decisions for technical and non-technical audiences.
Track new AWS data technologies and assess impact.
