Job summary

GSD Search, LLC is partnering with a growing financial services organization to identify a Senior Data Engineer to support its Finance data domain. The role focuses on developing, maintaining, and enhancing data pipelines, transformations, and warehousing solutions for critical financial operations and reporting.

The ideal candidate will translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes while collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Production-grade data pipelines experience.
• Advanced Python for data processing and pipeline development.
• Advanced SQL skills including complex queries and data validation.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT processes.
• Experience with cloud-based data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks.
• Experience with data transformation platforms like Coalesce or dbt.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
• Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and solve complex problems.
• Strong communication to explain technical solutions to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Build and optimize data transformations and models using Coalesce or dbt.
• Develop and maintain data orchestration workflows using Airflow, Dagster, or similar tools.
• Work with cloud-based data warehouses, preferably Snowflake.
• Collaborate with Finance stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions.
• Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and accessibility across datasets.
• Troubleshoot pipeline issues and optimize performance.
• Support reporting, analytics, and operational initiatives.
• Communicate technical decisions and progress to stakeholders.
• Own engineering challenges and drive improvements in a changing environment.
